MORPH Plennary meeting in Bremen, Germany

The MORPH plennary meeting is taking place in Bremen, Germany today and tomorrow. About 30 people from all partners – ATLAS (DE), CNR (IT), IFREMER (FR), JACOBS (DE), IST (PT), IUT (DE), CMRE (IT), UdG (SP), IMAR (PT) –  are present. The main topics are the results from the recent AZORES 2014 trials (September) and planning the work ahead.

Barco não tripulado “WEST” previsto dar à costa Portuguesa na Terça-feira

O barco não tripulado “WEST” da iniciativa “Educational passages” está previsto dar à costa Portuguesa na Terça-feira 11 de Novembro de 2014 pelas 21h, próximo de São Martinho do Porto. A pedido dos promotores desta iniciativa vimos solicitar a quem estiver na zona à beira mar na Terça-feira para tentar avista-lo. A quem o avistar pedimos que reporte com a máxima urgência para dsor@isr.ist.utl.pt ou para o telefone: 218 418 051 ou às autoridades marítimas locais. Amanhã e Terça vamos divulgar novas estimativas do ponto e hora de chegada do WEST. A previsão tem para já um grau de incerteza grande.

O “WEST” é um pequeno barco à vela com 1.5m de comprimento que foi lançado a água no âmbito da iniciativa “Educational Passages” (http://educationalpassages.com/), apadrinhado pela escola Westbrook Middle School, Maine, USA.

The uninhabited boat “WEST” from the initiative “Educational Passages” is expected to land  to the Portuguese coast this Tuesday 11th November 2014, around 21h near “São Martinho do Porto”. We have been contacted by the promoters of this initiative to try and recover WEST. To this effect we kindly ask anyone in the neighborhood to try and locate “WEST”. If you locate her then please report as soon as possible to dsor@isr.ist.utl.pt or call T: 218 418 051 or report to local authorities. Tomorrow and Tuesday we will be publishing new estimates of the arrival point and time. The current estimate does have a considerable uncertainty.

We kindly ask everyone to share and disseminate this request.

The “WEST”is a small sailing boat, 1.5m long, launched in the scope of the “Educational Passages” initiative (http://educationalpassages.com/), with the support of the Westbrook Middle School, Maine, USA.

CHARGER Crossed the Mid Atlantic Ridge

O CHARGER cruzou recentemente a Crista Médio Atlântica, parte da maior cordilheira de montanhas do mundo! Completou 4600 km em 50 dias e está agora a apenas 1300 km do Brasil. O que irá acontecer a seguir???

The CHARGER recently crossed the Mid Atlantic Ridge, which is part of the longest mountain range in the world! She has completed 4600 km in 50 days and is now just 1300 km from Brazil. Where will she go now???
